What does the future hold for women in our society today? Will there be less violence? How about better equality for women in their daily lives? Both of these topics are the more talked about topics when it comes to the lives of a female in our society. They both have many solutions to bettering the situation. Violence has many aspects to it whether it be physical or mental abuse. Both being able to leave scars and long term damage. Law enforcement would need to become stricter when it comes to domestic violence.
As for the equality issue we need to have better management to notice the work ethic and quality of work when it comes to pay wage and not just base it off of their gender. For example how is it fair to pay two workers of different sexes different wages for the exact same quality of work and both workers having the same type of work ethic? The answer is it is not fair.
Despite passage of the Equal Pay Act of 1963, which requires that men and women in the same work place be given equal pay for equal work, the "gender gap" in pay persists. Full-time women workers' earnings are only about 77 percent of their male counterparts' earnings. The pay gap is even greater for African-American and Latina women, with African-American women earning 64 cents and Latina women earning 56 cents for every dollar earned by a Caucasian man. Decades of research shows that no matter how you evaluate the data, there remains a pay gap, even after factoring in the kind of work people do, or the qualifications such as education and experience, and there is good evidence that discrimination contributes to the persistent pay disparity between men and women. In other words, pay discriminations is a real and persistent problem that continues to shortchane American women and their families.
In April of 2014, President Obama signed an Executive Order to prevent workplace discrimination and empower workers to take control over negotiations regarding their pay. In addition, he signed a Presidential Memorandum directing the Secretary of Labor to require federal contractors to submit data on employee compensation by race and gender, helping employers take proactive efforts to ensure fair pay for their employees.

Violence
Violence how does that affect everyone in America? Violence has a great affect on everybody whether it be directed towards a single person or if it is viewed indirectly by another person. When it comes to violence I am highly against it when there is not a solid reason for it to be used, but if there is any other way to settle a matter such as talking it out I'd much rather do that. Also when it comes to violence towards women I would never raise my hand in a violent manner to a women it disgusts me when I hear about a man beating a woman no matter the reasoning.
This chart shows the numbers of dosmetic violence between women and men from 2001 to 2007. As you can see the amount of female victims is almost 4 times the amount of male victims. From what i think this is because males being the more physically stronger person would sometimes like to assert the dominance over the sometimes weaker females. There are many factors for these statistics. Typically many violent outbursts are due to the consumption of large amounts of alcohol.
This chart shows that men in the past decade have nearly tripled women in alcoholism. This is a huge factor in why females are more prone to domestic violence because of the mens greater consumption of alcohol.
This chart shows the other factor of domestic violence which is race. Overall, in the United States, blacks experience higher rates of victimization than other groups: black females experience intimate violence at a rate 35 percent higher than that of white females, and black males experience intimate violence at a rate of 62 percent higher than that of white males and about two and a half times the rate of men of other races. Other surveys showed that American Indians and Alaskan Native women experience significantly higher rates of physical abuse as well.

Women in the Modern Workplace
Women in the modern workplace is a commonly discussed topic. Between the idea of is it more difficult for a woman to obtain a certain job or the wages between two people of opposite sex who have the same skill set and experience. In my own opinion it can be more difficult for women to get a job depending on the job. For example for a job that relies more on physical strength such as construction worker a male would be more likely to get the job due to a male typically being stronger. On the other hand a female would more likely be accepted over a male at a job in fashion because people are more drawn towards the physical appearance of a female. Keep in mind I may be completely incorrect this is just my own opinion on this subject. Now when it comes to wages typically you can see a female in the same position as a male receiving a lower wage than a male. In 2013 it was found that women were making 78 cents to every dollar that the men were making.
This is a chart that shows the average income between a man and woman after college. As you can see the women make significantly less than the men after college. Now the question is why is the gap so large when they received the same education (seeing as if they attended the same college and same class).
Again here's a photo representing the pay wage gap between men and women. As you can see the women in this photo are carrying a small sum of cash while the man in the picture has a much greater amout of money. In the workplace many people know of this wage gap but don't say anything due to it being frowned upon to ask a coworker what their wages are. Now I really wonder when and if this will be fixed and there will be more equality amongst the work place.

Women and Religion
In the world today has religion played a big part on how we view the women in our society? Has it been for the better or for the worse? In my own personal opinion religion has been making women inferior to that of a man. They have women as the child-bearer, wife and caretaker. While men are seen as the strong who will go out and work to keep the family safe. Different religions have their own different ways of viewing women as well. In some religions women are not allowed to show more than just their eyes or else they would be prosecuted.
This video here shows you some of the ways women are oppressed in religion.
In my own life I attempt to view everyone as equal. There may be times where I may sound like I am putting down women, but it is among my friends and I and the women in my group know i am joking around. The way I view things is that as long as you treat me with respect and kindness you will receive that same treatment from me. I don't deny that religion has affected me in the slightest amount, but that is just me being kind and helping out if needed.
